The Healthy Foods Card
The Healthy Foods Card is a Visa debit card that is loaded with a monthly allowance. The amount of the allowance varies depending on your plan. You can use the card to pay for eligible expenses, such as:
- Groceries
- OTC products
- Utilities
- Rent
- Pet care
- Transportation
- Vision care
- Hearing care
To be eligible for a Medicare healthy foods card, you must:
- Be enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan that offers the benefit.
- Have a chronic condition that is eligible for the benefit, such as diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure.
- Meet the income and asset requirements for the benefit.
The foods that are eligible for purchase with a Medicare healthy foods card vary by plan. However, some common eligible foods include:
