Medicare Fraud Protect Yourself This AEP
Be wary of unsolicited calls and emails. Medicare-approved plans and agents cannot contact you unsolicited. If you receive a call or email from someone claiming to be from Medicare, hang up or delete the email.
Be suspicious of offers that seem too good to be true. Medicare plans cannot offer you cash, gifts, or other incentives to enroll. If someone is offering you something like this, it's probably a scam.
Do your research before you enroll in a plan. Compare plans carefully and ask questions to make sure you're getting the best plan for your needs.
Beware of agents who pressure you to enroll in a plan right away. You have until December 7th to make a decision, so there's no need to rush.
Don't be afraid to ask for help. If you're not sure what plan is right for you, talk to a trusted friend, family member, or healthcare provider. You can also get help from your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP).
Use Medicare.gov as your resource. Medicare.gov has a wealth of information about Medicare plans and benefits. You can use the plan finder tool to compare plans and get quotes.
Report any suspected fraud to Medicare. You can report fraud online at Medicare.gov or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
If you would like to know more ways on how to protect yourself and to review your current Medicare Advantage Plan with a licensed agent please fill out the permission to contact form and a licensed agent will be in contact.
